Sometimes I wonder how many people see the same things. I have a weakness for a perfume known as harajuku lovers, partly for the scents and party for the bottles. I already have the original version of the perfume known as Love, and I adore the fact that at least once a year they release either new scents or limited edition mini bottles. I was extremely tempted by these latest editions as the bare a very close resemblance to some of my fav t-shirt designs from Bersek clothing. Hint Hint anyone who wants to know what to get me for christmas.

Today's color
So for this week I thought I would road test a couple of different nail products.
To start with I picked up a little bottle of Maybelline Mini Colorama in 96 Party Blue. I figured it was time to try something a little brighter than normal and it works perfectly as it matches the Melbourne Victory team colors so I can be supportive even with polish. Also at a mini price $5.95 it was worth the risk. It actually came out really well with a nice crisp color that didn't look too strong against my pale skin.

The other thing I am testing is having a gel overlay on my color. Why you may ask? As I work in a job that seems to take a large toll on my nail polish I thought I would try something to help keep the color longer. The big thing at the moment is Shelac but its a bit out of my price range at the moment, so this was the cheaper solution. So far so good. The gel overlay gives an almost glass like shine to the polish and best of all it was dry in under 2 minutes. Meaning I could leave the salon without fear of messing up my polish just after leaving.
So we'll see how long wearing it really is.

am i in a dream.....
Its not very often I go OMG when in a department store but today I did when I walked into the newly refitted OPI section of a David Jones. Talk about beautiful nail polish choices overload.
Hopefully by the photos you can see why. Its no secret I adore OPI polish, in fact I even have their app on my phone so I can browse their colors before heading out to the stores or salon. However when you see so many colors in one place its easy to feel your head swim with dizziness over this decision of which one you will pick.
Not to mention all the cool other products that I had never seen before. There were lotions, potions and ultra cute mini bottles of the latest collections. I was so tempted to say "give me one of everything" but thankfully sense kicked in LOL.
After so many years working in the retail world it takes a lot for me to go WOW with a company's fitout but OPI have managed to do it this time for me. So if you want some polish indulgence go and have a look at your local David Jones store to see. But be warned there are only so many polishes you can wear at once. Happy Shopping.

Mad Men Yourself

A few weeks ago I went an saw the Mad Men exhibition at Chadstone Shopping centre, so really it was just a matter of time before I up load a couple of pics from a cute little app called Mad Men Yourself.
Its a great way to put yourself in the show as a cartoon version without actually having to leave the comfort of your lounge. So I thought I'd show you what I came up with. There are tones of outfits, settings and body types to choose from, so jump online and have a play.

Tea for two

Where do you go when your craving a nice cup of tea???? Well I head straight to T2, my favourite tea store. So when Mikii was down this week and wanting something different than Earl Gray tea it was no surprise where we headed to.
Apart from all the beautiful blends I adore this place as there are always plenty of new teas to try and my personal weakness.....Teapots. Ok so you really only need one but when I place has this many to tempt you its hard to understand why one is enough.

Our main purpose was to pick up some Tisane's which are the perfect ice teas for this sunny daylight saving weather. We opted for the scrummy Turkish Apple and Turkish Cherry to be later enjoyed once home.

Goodbye and Thank you

It is with great sadness that I write this post. Today I heard the sad news about Steve Jobs passing away. You may wonder why the passing away of a person I never knew has affected me. To put it simply I have been using Apple Mac’s since I was a little girl, with my very first computer being the Apple Mac Classic SE II as shown below.
My first apple
With great thanks to the team at Apple that I have been inspired for years by new technology, been excited to learn, write and play. When I first started using Apple I was just a little girl and was look at weird when I said "I use a mac" now that phrase is no longer odd. Its no longer uncommon to own at least one apple product. Personally I have 3 ipods, a macbook, a macbook pro and an iphone; and yes if anyone wants to send an ipad my way I'd gladly give it a good home.
So basically I would like to say thank you to Steve and all at apple and leave you with a quote that I adore from an old apple ad that still rings true to me.

”Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits.
The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They push the human race forward.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world
are the ones who do.”
