The modern world like to take inspiration from the past and these classic little numbers from Bendon are no exception.
"The company revolutionised the lingerie industry with a radical approach to design. Rather than force women’s bodies in the restrictive corsetry of the time, the company looked at the way the body moved and pioneered lingerie that could ‘bend on’ the body." according to Bendon team
Personally I just adore these prints that are just the right mix of woman and girl. Not to mention TEMPTRESS! So go and check out your local lingerie stores for these great designs.
Sometimes when you at home you need a bit of Hollywood glamour. Well the team at What Katie did have created a couple of pieces that fit that right down to the hem of your favorite nightie.
Their slip is based on an authentic pattern, and can be worn as both a fabulous nightgown or as a period-perfect underslip. We can all understand why you need a nightgown, but there are still some who don't understand the need for a slip. Not only does a slip produce a super-smooth dress line and keep you warm during cooler nights, but it also helps avoid the static cling that nylon stockings can be famous for.
So what elese.....well they also have these rather saucy knickers are the perfect thing to wear underneath your Hollywood gown! Made from a single layer of sheer powermesh around the back and sides, they feature a flattering curved tummy panel made from matching midnight black satin, finished with a cream lace trim.
Normally I would save one of these beautiful stunning designs for my lingerie of the week but I just can't. Agent Provocateur have just launched their Autumn range and as always its to die for. Even though I'm heading into spring and summer these little gems have just enough colour to be forgiven to think they were made for us here in little Melbourne town.so now to the pretties

The Van Doren bra prompted such positive feedback about its comfort that the team at Kiss Me deadly thought they'd add a twist of elegance. A diamond mesh fabric and an ivory contrast trim bring out its superb shape, and they've added a narrow suspender belt that’s boned with a non-stretch centre panel, which is perfect for a little bit of shaping that’s really easy to wear. This set is quite contemporary looking, but they've kept the full brief, complete with its diamond pattern rear.
This set comes in S, M, L and XL, for the six strap suspender belt, six strap cincher, brief and thong 32-36 B-DD and 38C-DD for the bra and will be released in early August.
So its time decided on what delicate piece of heaven I will start my week off with.

This 1940 inspired bra and pantie set is another Peter Alexander gem. A soft style bra without underwire yet gives the body a brilliant 50's 'pointy' shape. The briefs are double layed and have a stunning gathered front.
Picked these up in the winter sales for a steal and was so glad i spent the extra time trying these on. These will be the sexy yet subtle layer underneath my winter angora cardi and long flowing skirts.
Right now you may be wondering what on earth I am talking about. However after recently discovering that many women, including ones I know, are wearing the wrong size lingerie and don't follow the lingerie longevity rules I thought I might share them with you all.
Its pretty simple; most of us like we like to wear a matching bra and panties set. But we all know you can often get two wears out of a bra before washing which means every second time its worn you not matching. So when ever you by a bra buy 2 panties.
Personally I buy 1 bra and the 2 different types of panties, either g-string, boy cut briefs or traditional briefs. Now you may be thinking "I don't have all that spare cash to buy lingerie". Buts is about getting the most out of your lingerie dollar. As panties are usually the first to go have a second set to extend the life of your bra is a good thing. Also when watching the dollar keep your eyes peeled for briefs that can match with bras you already own. My other favourite thing is to sneak into the DFO stores (direct factory outlet) for lingerie companies as you can often pick up a third or fouth pair of briefs for up to 70% off RRP. It just means you have to remember what you already have.
So next time your wondering out to the lingerie department have a think about what you have, what you need and the qty your going to get.

My latest addition the 1940's wardrobe is the devine Peter Alexander little glamou pieces. These little beauties are also in Black and white but I could not resist them in the baby pink. As a demi cup they do sit a little lower than I could normally wear but hey to look this good you have to try a few new things.
So under a crisp white tailored shirt and black high waisted pencil skirt they will be off to work tomorrow. Can't wait.
I'm a gal who lives in the best city for fashion, food and art.
I adore fashion from a multitude of eras with a weakness for goth, rockabilly, 1950 vintage, neo-victorian.
Lingerie is another weakness and I strongly believe that the right lingerie can change your day. For me its the foundation of your mood and outfit.
