Around town in the heat

In this heat I am trying to find cool places. Sadly in seems to be my car that is the safe haven, due to the wicked aircon i've got installed.

This heat of course poses a few problems. Not to mention general stickyness, but its the daily issue of "damn I wanted to wear that stupid too hot heat"

So I have broken out all the cute little black numbers I can find, and now get to play dress dressup.

At least I can still have tea, ok so its iced now but its still yummy. I've recently been hanging out at a cute little place perfectly named Planet Chocloate where I can indulge in my fav teas as well as crepes. I can't think of anything better than a crepe with ice cream and hot melted chocolate.

So after surviving 34 degree heat here in Melbourne my best advice is to break out those swimmers. pack a picnic and head down to the beach. My buddies and i have been heading down the St. Kilda and Brighton way in the early evening for some sunset fun and merriment. We can highly recommend this, especially when you can have a quick dip to cool off then head back to the shore for some crackers and dips

Friday 13th & Ms Palmer

Its friday the 13th and I am going to try and dodge the crazy people. Ok so that does include me but I am taking todays vibe and inspiration from one of my fav artist. The amazing Amanda Palmer....a woman who has been an amazing inspiration for me for many years now.

So today I will put the earphones in and crank the ipod up to max while I listen to dresden dolls and Amanda F**king Palmer. If you have never heard her i suggest you jump online and get an earful. Plus it doesn't hurt to see this loverly gal in corsets and lingerie alot of the time.

C is for cookie thats good enough for me

Yes, as a child of the 1980's I adore sesame street and the Muppets. Therefore I am excited to find some of the coolest things around for their 40th birthday. Plus you gotta love that cookie monster is on google. So in honor of all things sesame I have gone and hunted out some of my old and new fave SS treats.

Especially when it comes to stuff like cover art like these from the 1970's and 1980's. Sesame Road and Sesame Street fever featuring the rubber ducky disco remix.

You have to love when SS do covers of stuff like Mad Men as well.
Or you can indulge in these yummy cake pop treats from Bakerella.
In this big bad world you gotta love a place where monsters, people, animals and whatever's all live together in harmony.

Ok so this last one is just coz I don't think cookies are a sometimes treat either.

down the rabbit hole

Necklace - Made by C
Make Up - Benifit and Mac
Slip - Peter Alexander

Well just its nearly been a month since I hit the net, damn you daily work and internet shortage. But now I'm back and ready to indulge. So whats been going you may ask that has caused me to get stuck in the real world. Well.....I've been at a lingerie and sleepwear conference. Oh yes a few days to play with so many pretty things that my suit case could hardly fit all the yummy samples I brought back. So I will also be posting some conference images etc.

Well as you can see by the above shot this month I'm going for a bit of a darker look, plus I'm joining in the month long test of NO JEANS. A group of gals and I are trying to break the cycle of women always wearing jeans. So for all of november and december jeans will be put to the back of the wardrobe unless worn to work in (and since I don't actually plan on doing any manual labour during these months I think I'll be fine)

But the coolest thing I think for me is tomorrow is Halloween. Sure its not a big thing over here but it is my wedding anniversary and a great excuse to dress up.

So everyone go raid that sexy wardrobe you know you have and have some fun this weekend.

Luv & Lashes to you all

These skirted knickers are simply gorgoues! Feature tiny red bow and decorative anchor at front.Fabric: 95% Polyester 5% Elastane

I am sure that these will find their way into my collection but that now means I'll have to figure out do I wear the PA version or the What Katie Did one next week? Oh well the more lingerie the better.

Sweet and Innocent...so they think

MakeUp - Benefit & Mac
Cardi - Portmans
Dress - Peter Alexander Slinky Nightie
Flower - Made by C
Skirt (out of shot) - Route 66

Sometimes its less about the fashion and more about the details.

As spring fashion hits the world of Melbourne and stores are flooded with hats, feather and thoughts turn to frocks I've decided to see if I can bring some of that fashion fun and flair to work.
So today's outfit was aimed at being a bit sugar and spice. Apart from the usually lingerie inspired top which was actually a shortie nightie from Peter Alexanders Winter 2 Range worn under a tight black pencil skirt with blue trim from Route 66; I added my fav little handmade necklace and massive ivory flower.

Cherries & Made By C

Sweet Cherry Necklace and Earrings by Made By C
Lady Luck Shirt by Sitch Witch
Sunglasses by Portmans

I do love my rockabilly style especially when it comes to my jewellery. As you can see I have gone for the classic red and black, as well as cherries. This is a great style as you can put your own twist on it.

Must admit there is nothing i find better than finding a local gal who can use simple pieces that capture the vibe I'm after. I wear a few pieces from Made By C, and have to giggle when I see simple pieces in mass produced stores like Diva.

So I guess what I'm really trying to say is keep your eyes open for the indpendant designers, online and in that big wide world of ours. A great little web site (apart from Etsy) is Shanalogic , where you can find all manner of things from T-shirts to necklaces from all around the world.

Washi Blossom Ring - Red & Jet
I just have to list a few more images of the amazing pieces for your lust worthy attention.

Last Call Pocket Mirror

So I can only urge everyone to get clicking and see what treasures you can source for christmas and birthday presents. Happy looking
