A bit more me.......

With my new phone also came the new challenge of our to make it a .....bit more me. So how do you turn a plain black Nokia into a retro tattooed Nokia?

So what you need:
  • Phone (obviously)
  • Smiggle Skin in pattern of your choice
  • Cleaning Cloth (i used the one for my glasses)
  • stable surface to work on

They are decorative vinyl covers that allow you to personalise your favourite gadget. I used the retro print from Smiggle, at only $19.95. The great thing is you simply pick your gadget model & preferred Smiggle design on the interactive touch screens found instore, then take the receipt to the counter.

Watch as your Smiggle Skin is laser-cut right before your eyes. Which means the skin will fit perfectly on your device.

Wipe clean your device then peel from the backing, and gently lie on the gadget. Once your sure its all lined up right press down and smooth out any air bubbles. And there you have it!

If you want to see a bit more have a look at the smiggle how to vid here.

Cherries & Made By C

Sweet Cherry Necklace and Earrings by Made By C
Lady Luck Shirt by Sitch Witch
Sunglasses by Portmans

I do love my rockabilly style especially when it comes to my jewellery. As you can see I have gone for the classic red and black, as well as cherries. This is a great style as you can put your own twist on it.

Must admit there is nothing i find better than finding a local gal who can use simple pieces that capture the vibe I'm after. I wear a few pieces from Made By C, and have to giggle when I see simple pieces in mass produced stores like Diva.

So I guess what I'm really trying to say is keep your eyes open for the indpendant designers, online and in that big wide world of ours. A great little web site (apart from Etsy) is Shanalogic , where you can find all manner of things from T-shirts to necklaces from all around the world.

Washi Blossom Ring - Red & Jet
I just have to list a few more images of the amazing pieces for your lust worthy attention.

So I can only urge everyone to get clicking and see what treasures you can source for christmas and birthday presents. Happy looking

The Melbourne Princess

Ok so its not lingerie based but todays entry is about beauty. Recently in the frosty streets of Melbourne Ms Tiki Doll decided it was time to get some Mendhi done. As a fan of this for many years it was an easy decision. For those of you who are unsure what I'm talking about Mendhi (also Mehandi, Mehendi, etc.) is the application of Henna as a temporary form of skin decoration in South Asia, Southwest Asia, North Africa and the Horn of Africa, as well as by expatriate communities from these areas. Mehendi decorations became fashionable in the West in the late 1990s, where they are sometimes called henna tattoos. Henna is typically applied during special occasions like weddings and festivals. It is usually drawn on the palms and feet, where the color will be darkest because the skin contains higher levels of keratin which binds temporarily to lawsone, the colorant of henna. Henna was originally used as a form of decoration mainly for brides.

So in the festive spirit I offered up my hand to be done and here are the results. I must say I'm rather pleased and think I will be investing in some more in many different places. Plus I am investigating getting some paste myself to start practising designs
