Lady Luck

Another great feature of worn wild was seeing the designs from Victorian based designer Jessi Briggs of Lady Luck Lampshades. WOW! is the first thing I'll say and secondly THANKS! It is so great to see some classic prints out on display.

I won't say too much as the designs speak for themselves, but I will say its going to be VERY hard to figure out which 1, 2 or 3 I'm going to get for the house, office, bedroom well about any room that I can put one in. So now to the designs

Aloha Dolls - my #1 Fav at the moment
Tiki Island - i think for the lounge room
Cottage Floral - for the main guest room
Latino Senoras- for the office

Worn Wild

So as a wrap up to Spring fashion week AK, Ms Midnight, Ms J, Ms Krose & Nobo headed to Worn Wild. A great place to see the up and coming alternative designers of Melbourne and Australia.

This is a great place to meet people and designers of fashion, corsets, accessories and housewares. Not to mention see some great fashion being worn; and at $5 it doesn't cost much to support local talent.

Between the group of us we managed to pick up a few great finds with Ms Krose leaving with a pin-striped bustle skirt and Ms Midnight even bought me an awesome broach of a retro pin up gal just like the one going on my new business card. Not to mention there were some great fashion parades showcasing some of the wonderful designs.

MSFW also saw the launch of Peter Alexanders Spring Collection. Lets just say its super cute this year, plus a few surprises. So i'll let the photos speak for themselves...
I just adore this little number! I think a trip to Peter Alexander for this outfit.

And a super cute dog handbag! So gotta get one.

And I must admit I adore the addition of B1 & B2 in this collection.

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week - Vintage Fashion Talk

Candice sharing her passion for fashion

Well what a great start to Melbourne Spring Fashion Week! So far I've been to fashion exposed, the launch of Peter Alexander's Spring Collection (photo's to come) and most importantly a talk of Vintage Glamour by a fellow blogger, Candice DeVille.

Candice showing off some stunning pieces from her collection

Not only was this a great talk, it was also fantastic to see so many from the 'vintage community' come out to share, talk and most importantly support one another. A big hello to Nicole Jenkins owner of
Circa Vintage, Kesenya from Alice Jeans, Nada Bos from Something Else Clothing and AK from Allan King Photography.

Apart from these amazing vintage ladies and gentlemen it was wonderful to see so many like minded people coming out to share the passion like this lady.....

So what were all doing there you many ask? As part of the “Slumber in the City” City series; Located at City Square, Swanston Street, between Collins Street and Flinders Lane, we indulged in some stunning sleepwear displayed by Circa Vintage.

Then watching the Peter Alexander sleepwear collection. And of course at 2pm – 3pm: Candice DeVille presented a workshop on vintage glamour, with a focus on sleepwear, and my favourite topic LINGERIE!

We also got to look at classic original pieces on Eszter and Marianne, which made me smile as Marianne was wearing a piece similiar to one of my newer additions.

Plus there was a nice look at how to wear and create a look using modern pieces. Because let's face it sometimes you have to get modern bits to create your look.

Overall a great start to fashion week, and a big thanks to Candice for a wonderful talk!

Oh my what a weekend

AK working on post production from day 1

Well what a long and wonderful weekend! I've spent the last two days out in the freezing cold of Ballarat being part of a photo workshop as a model. I had actually forgotten how long those days can be. As a model we start first and finish last so saturday was a start at 8am and we wrapped up about 9pm, then of course a BBQ and catch up followed. Then sunday with 8am start and wrap-up about 6pm. Which did mean I was up at 6am to start my own hair and makeup before heading to the location to help with other models hair and makeup. At least I got to practice my skills on a few different skin types to help increase my skills.

Firstly a big thanks to the great host's Peter and Rose. Next a thanks goes to the models like Ms SugarPlumFairy and Ms Midnight for great laughs as well as being able to use my makeup skills on you gals. As well as a thanks to the other models (sorry I've forgotten a lot of names) Ms Jess, Ms Sandra, Ms Taya, Rouge, Ms K. And of course thanks to the photographers for coming, sharing your visions and working with us.

Me and Ms Midnight playing with all the blankets on set

So overall after some very long days, its time to come back to Melbourne and hit fashion week. No rest for the wicked hey! I will post some images once I get them all cleaned up from the photographers so you can see some of what we got up to.

But for now I'm off to bed and dream of what fashion week may hold!
