Work Wake up

Sometimes its hard to find inspiration for a work outfit, especially if your like me. I say the same thing over and over again while starring at a full wardrobe "I have nothing to wear!!!"

Hence I thought I'd put a few pieces of inspiration for those monday morning blues. The key I have found is to have a couple of simple dresses (like the one above) and add some stunning extras. Sometimes it can be as simple as a few pieces of WOW such as bracelets, earrings or an ultra chic bag. For the outfit above I took my inspiration from a dessert, so you can take yours from anything that makes you smile.

With all this in mind I'm off to play dressups!!!! Hope you are all running to your wardrobes to see what you can create

Yes Boss

Sometimes you want more than just a shirt and pants to wear to work, and for me I also want to embrace my love of the 1950's. Ok so I don't work in an office filled with ladies from Mad Men, but I have found a company that allows me to wear my style of dress that takes me back to that era. Thank goodness for Stop Staring clothing!

So its no real surprise how this black and pink number made it into my wardrobe. Of course its made of nice material with a bit of stretch so you can sit at a desk all day, but it also a stunning piece of office wear.

I think this little blue number may also have to make its way to my closet for a more casual friday. As I am not one for jeans and a tee this cute dress gives you a more relaxed feel but is still presentable just in case that unexpected client walks in. So hats off to the team at Stop Staring for these great work pieces.

office gal

*Just another day at the office*

Now I work in a pretty relaxed office these days, such a change from being on my feet in retail for the last 16 years. So I am still trying to balance my love of pinup/gothabilly/gothic Lolita style with some very ‘straight’ people. As we work in a trade style company (sparky’s, mech’s and sales reps) I can embrace my love of the fitted western shirt. I do walk a fine line of corporate pinup (which seems to come out a bit more saucy librarian these days) and western tradie. But it’s all a question of timing; especially as there seems to be this thing called casual Friday (ok so its new to me) but I am trying to get them to embrace the casual dress for a cause that we used to have at school. Like Jeans for Gene’s day, that or get the office in pink for Breast Cancer day. I’ll let you know how that goes, maybe I’ll just settle for everyone getting involved in things like the biggest morning tea.

So I ask all you stunning gal’s out there what do you wear to the office? Or what do you wish you could wear?
