Gotta Love Vintage

Alright ladies its time to start counting those pennies you've been saving for the The Love Vintage Clothing Show & Sale at Sydney's Canterbury Racecourse Function Centre.  For some of us it means hopping a flight up to Sydney for the weekend (September 14th-16th) but when great fashion calls what else are we meant to do????

Come on what is a girl meant to do when she is presented with some of the best vintage dealers from all over Australia selling retro, vintage and antique clothing and accessories, antique and vintage jewellery, linen, lace and textiles and small collectables. Not to mention that there will be vintage fashions on the stage, lectures by guest speakers, workshops and demonstrations of vintage makeup and hairstyle techniques and other fabulous entertainment.  Ok I'm tired just thinking about how much I will have to fit in while there.

So are you thinking about coming yet?  How about knowing that they are even doing a Mini-makeover – Before & After; with a lucky guest being chosen at the ‘Red Carpet’ event to receive this special treatment on Friday night!  Plus the Friday night ‘Red Carpet’ preview features the Best Dressed Parade with wonderful prizes to be won plus lots more entertainment.  So start working on those outfits ladies.

And for the low cost of Adults $14 (2 day pass $26 and 3 day pass $38) why wouldn't you be there?  You can even book online to saw yourself time waiting in lines when you could be shopping.  So grab your glad rags and we'll see you there in a few weeks.

The Shoes!!!!!

Usually I have no luck finding shoes. When I want red there are none in season, and as soon as I give up then they are everywhere. Also being an ex-dancer I have very narrow feet which suit dance and ballet shoes (points not fashion ballet) however a lot of the high street shoe stores have wider cuts. Therefore I am very used to either having to spend way too much on shoes or settling for the cheaper options with inserts so I don’t slip all over the place. Sadly being on a budget that’s usually what happens. However………

After spending the last week hunting for shoes to go with my new Kitten D’Amour outfits and then throwing my hands up saying “why are there no navy shoes”; I ended up killing time in a little shopping centre where luck would have it I found these beauties.

Pansy by Zoe Wittner

Firstly they are Zoe Wittner so I know they fit, which is fantastic and a huge selling point just there. But no there was to be more joy over shoes when the lovely sales assistant said those magic words “they’re on sale!” so quickly checking for my size, then a quick try on , I handed over my $50…yep that’s right $50 for my new Wittner’s. But of course before I could escape I found just one more pair for $50 that I had to have… so stay tuned.

I know they are on sale at the moment so I do suggest a quick trip to your local store because you never know what you’ll find.

the shoes!!!!

In my recent hunting for different styles for an up coming shoot I came across these gems, sadly not my size but stunning none the less.

With their muted pink champagne body and ever so sweet and playful blooms of Ivory, champagne, pink, muted ice blue they were the sort of shoes that you just have to stop and have a look at. Not to mention very well priced. I also found them in a midnight version of blacks, deep purples, navy and green based blacks which was eye catching but no where near as much as the pale metallic versions.

Fingers crossed I find them in my size down here in Melbourne.
